Term Description

Year

The year for which a specific Model is available. Year is either defined as production year or model year depending on the market:


Production year: Australia, Portugal and UK.

Model year: Brazil and Canada.

Brand

A Brand is the Manufacturer of a vehicle. Brand is typically synonymous with Make, Manufacturer and/or OEM.

Model

A Model is a specific line of vehicles manufactured by a Brand.

Vehicle Version

A vehicle Version is a specific sub-Model, also known as a Trim or Derivative.

Vehicle ID

Vehicle ID represents a unique vehicle at year, brand, model version + TED (transmission, engine & drivetrain) level.

Fuel Type

A Fuel Type represents the specific fuel that a vehicle consumes such as gasoline, diesel, hybrid or flex fuel. Electric vehicles will show electric as fuel type.

Market Category

Market Categories represent logical groupings of vehicles based on body style or vehicle class such as luxury or electric/hybrid.

Transmission

A Transmission Type represents the specific Transmission mechanism that a vehicle is built with, automatic or manual.

Drivetrain

A DriveTrain represents the specific DriveTrain type that a vehicle is built with, such as 4x4 or 4x2.

Price Advisor

Price Advisor is a range-based pricing tool created by Kelley Blue Book that provides not just a point value but also a pricing range.

Vehicle Type

A Vehicle Type represents the type of usage for which a vehicle is intended. Typically this is either Passenger Vehicle or Commercial.

Price Type

Vehicle Price Types represent the specific values that can be calcluated for a given vehicle based on it's current status. Kelley Blue Book has the following price types:

  • 0 = NEW_VEHICLE - New Car Fair Market Price

  • 1 = USED_DEALER - Typical Dealer Asking Price

  • 2 = USED_PRIVATE_PARTY - Private Party Value (for owners)

  • 3 = SELL_DEALER - Trade-In Value

  • 4 = SELL_PRIVATE_PARTY - Private Party Value (for shoppers)

  • 5 = AUCTION - Auction Value

New Car Fair Purchase Price represents the purchase price of a new vehicle. Used Car Typical Dealer Asking Price represents dealers' typical asking price of a used car. Used Car Private Party Value represents the transaction price between two private indivuals. Used Car Auction Value represents the value of an used vehicle in wholesale transaction. Used Car Trade-In Value represents the value of an used car when selling the vehicle to a dealer.

Vehicle Grade

Vehicle grade represents the condition of a vehicle. The grades are from 1 to 5. The meanings of each grade differ by market, as follows:

  • 2 = FAIR - Fair state vehicle grade

  • 3 = GOOD - Good state vehicle grade

  • 4 = VERY_GOOD - Very Good state vehicle grade

  • 5 = EXCELLENT - Excellent state vehicle grade

Kelley Blue Book does not provide a vehicle value for poor condition grade in any market. In Brazil & Portugal, no value is provided for very good condition, only 3 condition adjustments are available (fair, good and excellent).

Equipment

Vehicle Equipment, often called Options, is the set of all available equiment that can be used to configure a vehicle.

Equipment Flag Option

Equipment flag options values:

  • 0 = SERIAL_EQUIPMENT - Standard serial equipment options

  • 1 = OPTION_FREE - Free vehicle equipment options

  • 2 = OPTION_EXTRA_CHARGE - Extra charge vehicle equipment options

  • 3 = OPTION_PRICE_NOT_GIVEN - Vehicle equipment options without specified price

  • 4 = OPTION_NOT_AVAILABLE - Unavailable vehicle equipments options

  • 5 = MANDATORY_EXTRA_CHARGE - Vehicle equipment options that are mandatory and extra charged

Equipment Flag Package

Equipment flag package values:

  • 0 = INDIVIDUAL_ITEM - Individual vehicle equipment item

  • 1 = EQUIPMENT_PACKAGE - Vehicle equipment package

  • 2 = INDIVIDUAL_ITEM_INCLUDED_IN_PACKAGE - Vehicle equipment item included in package

Equipment Exclude Flag

Equipment exclude flag values:
